He is a professor of Political Philosophy, Ikerbasque researcher at the University of the Basque Country, director of the Instituto de Gobernanza Democr\u00e1tica in San Sebasti\u00e1n and a professor at the European University Institute in Florence, where he holds the chair in Artificial Intelligence &amp; Democracy. He has been guest lecturer at various European and American universities, including the Sorbonne, the London School of Economics, the University of Georgetown and the Max Planck Institut in Heidelberg. His most recent books include <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Una teor\u00eda de la democracia compleja, Una teor\u00eda cr\u00edtica de la Inteligencia Artificial y El futuro de la democracia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Among other accolades, he has won the Euskadi and National Essay prizes, as well as the Pr\u00edncipe de Viana culture award and the Ram\u00f3n Men\u00e9ndez Pidal national research prize in the field of humanities, in 2022.
