Born in China, he studied Computer Engineering at the University of Hong Kong and Goldsmiths College London, focusing on the philosophy of technology. He currently teaches at Bauhaus University in Weimar and at the School of Creative Media at the University of Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has been a research associate at the Institute of Culture and Aesthetics of Digital Media (ICAM), post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Research and Innovation at the Centro Pompidou in Paris and visiting scientist at the Deutsche Telekom Laboratories in Berlin. He was the founder of the Research Network for Philosophy and Technology, an international network for pooling research and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hui has published articles in different media such as Research in Phenomenology, Metaphilosophy, Cahiers Simondon, Deleuze Studies, Implications Philosophiques, Techn\u00e9, etc. In Spanish the publisher Caja Negra released Fragmentar el futuro. Ensayos sobre tecnodiversidad<\/em> (2020) and Recursividad y contingencia<\/em> (2022).<\/p>\n\n\n\n He is the author of 30 Years after Les Immat\u00e9riaux: Art, Science and Theory<\/em> (2015, with Andreas Broeckmann), On the Existence of Digital Objects<\/em> (2016), The Question Concerning Technology in China \u2013 An Essay in Cosmotechnics<\/em> (2016), Recursivity and Contingency<\/em> (2019) and Art and Cosmotechnics<\/em> (2021).
