Baró d’Evel | Là

Piece for two humans and a crow. Là represents all the enchantment of the New Circus movement with a production that, far from traditional circus shows, combines poetry, choreography, music, theatre and the black and white aesthetic of Baró d’Evel’s own language. 

“What’s left when everything has been taken away? Whiteness, certainly. And what we’ll still have to blow up to get to the lowest common denominator. Whatever it costs. Whatever comes out of it. Both the enchantment and the journey, and the joy.” With these words Baró d’Evel introduce us to Là (French for ‘There’), a choral show in three voices: two humans and Gus the crow, who come together in a strangely sensitive, poetic ballet. 

According to its creators, in Là “At first gesture is stripped down to the essential: two bodies, two genders, two colours, two dimensions, two realms, a single solitude, the same tenacious desire that goes on and starts again. The same deep desire to let oneself be transformed by the other, be moved by the other. As if everything only existed if it were troubled or traversed.”
