Malditas Plumas

Inspired by the genre of the revue – ironic, tender and with plenty of humour – Malditas Plumas (Damned Feathers) tells the story, mid-way between fact and fiction, of a star of the bohemian Paral·lel district of Barcelona, played by Sol Picó, choreographer, dancer and one of the the leading figures in contemporary dance today. 

Malditas Plumas visits different episodes in this character’s life on a journey that veers between tenderness and decadence. In this piece the audience discovers the story of this star of the Paral·lel and shares her memories, her experiences and her life… or maybe she never actually made it and these are just her dreams, her life plans, her unfulfilled wishes… 

A whole crazy dream, perhaps, but while it carries us off to a very specific time and place, it also connects with the most human – and therefore most universal –  of feelings: fear of death, degradation, loss… of disappearing.

This show plays with transformation, audience interaction and the confusion between fiction and reality, always with the irony and humour that characterise Sol Picó’s language.
