Become a Midnight Star

Reading Anne Waldman

For the Encuentros de Pamplona, Anne Waldman will recite poems from Become a Midnight Star, an anthology of her most notable and militant poems. Tributes to artists/poets Anne has known and loved: Allen Ginsberg, John Cage (who was at the 1972 Encuentros), John Giorno and Diane di Prima, among others. A trip to the Mexican border to protest about encaged children and to Indonesia to offer a cosmology of its unique shadow theatre. 

Anne Waldman will be accompanied by visuals with translations into Spanish by Mariano Antolín Rato.
