Round table with Tania Adam, Odil Bright and Gabriela Wiener, moderated by Georgina Rabassó.
Is a new, radically different and better world possible? This round table, moderated by philosopher Georgina Rabassó, will discuss experiences of displacement, belonging, otherness and vulnerability through processes of artistic reflection, taking into account personal and historical memory, and also the formulation of new utopias. Cultural researcher and journalist Tania Adam proposes acceptance of cultural plurality in Spain and of the distinctiveness of creativity among a heterogeneous black consciousness, as shown on the multi-disciplinary Radio África platform. Writer Gabriela Wiener, on the other hand, plunges into her body of work, especially her recent Huaco Retrato about the scars of colonial memory and the persecution of decolonisation of the body and desire. Finally, artist Odil Bright, with her vision of a multi-faceted sound imagination, will be contributing to the conversation with her sound performance Soy Negro, in which she reflects on concepts like cultural colonisation and taste as a social construct.
