Lectures and dialogues
The Blue Flame of Photography

Images and Words with Antoine D´Agata
Mala noche (1998) was the first book by Antoine D’Agata (Marseilles, 1961). Since then, his encounters with people are what burn in his photographs with the most heat and also the most violence. The night, prostitution, sex, drugs, darkness, travel, encounters with others. But he argues that there are no themes, but experiences in which he tries to involve himself to the ultimate consequences. And sometimes, out of these experiences come images. Master of a coherence that can be painful to look at, his statement that “My only hell is myself, my only way out is others” is a good start for dialogue with him and looking at his photographs.
