Georgina Rabassó

Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona and researcher in the Philosophy and Gender Seminar and ADHUC, the centre for research into theory, gender and sexuality at the same university.

She leads the research project into the forgotten legacy of Juliana Morell, and works to recover, publish and analyse texts from the female philosophical tradition. Winner of the Rafael Patxot Jubert prize in 2018 for her research into the allegorical cosmology of Hildegard of Bingen.

She writes articles about the thought of female German mediaeval authors and contemporary philosophers like Simone Weil, and is supervising a doctoral thesis about bell hooks. The leitmotiv of her work consists of questioning the philosophical canon by placing the thoughts, methodologies and experiences of women philosophers centre stage.
