Islamic scholar and specialist in Sufism.
A doctor in Arabic philology and specialist in Sufi mysticism, he has studied in Morocco, Jordan, the Lebanon and Syria. He has studied Arabic calligraphy and Turkish musicology in Istanbul, and is a ney player. As an Islamic Studies lecturer, he works with several academic institutions, both Spanish and Latin American. A translator of Arabic and Persian Sufi poetry, he has written several books on Sufism, including Sufismo (Fragmenta), Perlas Sufíes. Saber y sabor de Mevlânâ Rûmî (Herder) and Rûmî. Alquimista del corazón, maestro de derviches (Herder). In 1998 he founded the Institut d’Estudis Sufís in Barcelona, and has run it since then.
