Oskar Alegria Suescun (Pamplona, 1973) is a filmmaker and writer. His first film, La casa Emak Bakia (2012), tells of a search in the house where Man Ray filmed on the French Basque coast, a film-poem with the same name “Emak Bakia” (“Leave me alone!” in Basque). His second feature film, Zumiriki (2019), narrates his experience of four months isolated in a wooden hut in the woods of his childhood opposite an island submerged by the construction of a dam. He was Artistic Director of the Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra for four years (2014-2018), in which he coordinated and wrote books on essay and cinema such as Time and Oteiza al margen. His latest book, Fragmentario, proposes a visit to the Museum of Navarre based on fragments of the pieces on display.
