A lecturer, philosopher and writer of both fiction and non-fiction, he was born in Paris in 1940. Bruckner is a doctor of Letters from the Université Paris VII.
He has won the Medici Essay, Renaudot and Montaigne prizes. Roman Polanski put his novel Evil Angels on the big screen. A prominent critic of multiculturalism, he supports the right to specificity of ethnic, religious and cultural minorities, arguing for respectful assimilation by the host society.
Some of his most important books have been translated into English, including: Temptation of innocence, The Tears of the White Man, The Tyranny of Guilt and Perpetual Euphoria. His last book is An Eternal Instant. Philosophy of longevity.
