E7.2

E7.2 was formed in 2012 in response to the need to channel the thirst for creativity of a group of artists in a systematic and less disorderly fashion. Leandro Suarez, founding member, is currently executive director of Nouvel Opéra Fribourg in Switzerland and was originally in charge of multimedia. Pilar Fontalba is an oboe soloist and manages Ensemble E7.2. Salvador Tarazona is a percussion teacher and the designer of the street and percussion programmes. Juanjo Eslava is a composer and laboratory project creator. Carolina Cerezo is a composer and stage performance designer. Eva Fontalba is a pianist and manages E7.2’s educational section. Pablo Ramos is a stage director and the collective’s artistic and content manager, and José Berrueta is an architect and designs everything to do with E7.2’s plastic art and architectural initiatives. Berrueta has his own workshop in Zurich and has worked in such studios as Calatrava architects and Herzog & de Meuron in Switzerland.

The members of E7.2 contribute from their specific fields with their experience, reflection, artistic criteria and personal involvement in the international artistic environment. E7.2 organises the After Cage festival, now in its ninth edition. After Cage is an experimentation and laboratory festival. Its structures are radical, having overcome the concept of ‘concert’ by implementing a non-linear time system and consciously abandoning the purpose of being a programmer in order to grasp the initiative of creation with other artists.
