Poet and essayist born in Gijón in 1967. He has written several books of poetry, highlights among which include No estábamos allí (Pre-Textos, 2016; best poetry book of the year according to El Cultural) and Maestro de distancias (Abada, 2022). He has also translated the poetry of W.H. Auden, William Blake, Lewis Carroll, Anne Carson, T.S. Eliot and Sylvia Plath, among others. He has published the books of notes and aphorisms Hormigas blancas (Bartleby, 2005), Perros en la playa(La Oficina, 2011) and Todo esto será tuyo (Pre-Textos, 2021), as well as several books of essays and articles. He was a Spanish language assistant at Oxford University from 1997 to 2000, as well as editing the journal Letras Libres (2001-2004) and heading the publishing department at the Círculo de Bellas Artes (2007-2013). Since 2012 he has coordinated the poetry collection of the publisher Galaxia Gutenberg.
