A poet born in Pamplona/Iruña in 1961. He holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the UNED. He has lived for many years in Doneztebe/Santesteban (Navarra), where he works for the Spanish government as a civil servant.
To date he has published eight books of poems in Basque, through different publishers but primarily Pamiela. Among others he has won the Xabier Lete prize for his Eremuen birkalifikatzea and the critics’ prize for Barbaroen baratzea.
He has also written two novels in Basque. With Ehiztariaren isilaldia (published in Spanish as El silencio del cazador) he won the Basque Country prize for literature in 2016. 2016.
