Luisa Etxenike

A writer born in San Sebastián, director of the online space for the circulation of knowledge canaleuropa.eu and of the international literary festival Un mundo de escritoras. 

She has published the novels Cruzar el aguaAves del paraísoAbsoluta presenciaEl detective de sonidosEl ángulo ciego (Euskadi prize 2009), Los peces negrosVinoEl mal más grave and Efectos secundarios; the short story collections Ejercicios de duelo and La historia de amor de Margarita Maura; the poetry book El arte de la pesca; and the stage plays La herencia (Buero Vallejo prize 2016) and Gernika es ahora; and the scientific piece La Entrevista together with physicist Gustavo Schwartz. 

In 2007 the French government awarded her the distinction of knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 2013 San Sebastián city council awarded her the medal of public merit.
