Maria Ptqk

Curator and cultural researcher. A doctor of Artistic Research and winner of a special doctoral prize from the UPV-EHU, her field of research and work lies in the intersections between art, technoscience and feminisms. 

She works as a curator, project coordinator and consultant. She was a member of the Basque council of culture from 2009 to 2012 and is part of the advisory group to the art publisher and producer arte consonni. 

She curated the exhibitions Soft Power with Proyecto Amarika Proiektua (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2009), A propósito del Chthuluceno y sus especies compañeras (Espace virtuel du Jeu de Paume, Paris, 2017), Reset Mar Menor. Laboratorio de imaginarios para un paisaje en crisis (together with Clara Boj at CCC Valencia, 2020), Ciencia fricción. Vida entre especies compañeras (CCCB Barcelona, 2021; Azkuna Zentroa Alhóndiga, Bilbao 2022) and Extinción Remota Detectada (LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, 2022).

She has worked on projects with, among others, Medialab Prado, Azkuna Zentroa – Alhóndiga Bilbao, Fundación Daniel y Nina Carasso, La Gaité Lyrique, GenderArtNet (European Cultural Foundation), and Donostia-San Sebastián 2016. European Capital of Culture.
