His work has won accolades including the Juan Rulfo, Jaén and Alfaguara awards, and been anthologised and translated into twelve languages. His most recent work include the book of short stories Trayéndolo todo de regreso a casa (2021), the essays No, no pienses en un conejo blanco and Traumbuch (2022) and the novel La naturaleza secreta de las cosas de este mundo (2023). In 2010 Granta magazine chose him as one of the twenty best Spanish-language writers of his generation. More recently he was Director’s Guest at Civitella Ranieri and visiting scholar at the University of Cologne, Germany. Pron holds a doctorate in Romance philology from the Georg-August university of Göttingen, and lives in Madrid.
