SIGMA Project (or to put in another way, the combined talents of Andrés Gomis, Ángel Soria, Alberto Chaves and Josetxo Silguero) is more than a saxophone quartet; it is an essential vehicle for 21st-century instrumental music. True ‘Arditti’ of the saxophone (in the words of music magazine Scherzo), they have given more than 250 concerts at venues and festivals across half the world, including La Scala in Milan, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, the United States, Jamaica, Bogotá, Chile, Germany, France, Scotland, England, Italy, Poland, Romania, Croatia and Tunisia, as well as their own circuit in Spain. With more than 90 new works under their belt, they have so far published 13 recordings (Wergo, Kairos, Col-Legno, Mode Records). During their international 10th anniversary tour (2008-2018), the BBVA foundation recognised the excellence of the SIGMA Project by awarding it the prestigious Leonardo grant for music research and creation.
