THE SCHOOL
The Escuela de los Encuentros is an educational scheme linked to the biennial that brings together experimentation, thought and a fusion of artistic disciplines catering for audiences of children and young people. This project, first run in 2024, offers schools the chance to run workshops specially designed by the coordinating team and artists to link in with the themes in the programme of the Encuentros de Pamplona, as established by curator Ramón Andrés.
The Escuela de los Encuentros focuses on rural schools and those teaching the arts baccalaureate. The workshops offered to schools are run during the school year in the months before the biennial. They are practical in nature, featuring a range of artistic languages, including film, art, sound, dance and the visual arts.
The Palacio Condestable in Pamplona is to host an exhibition in October about the Encuentros de Pamplona / Iruñeko Topaketak, showing the work processes involved in the workshops. The schools and pupils taking part are invited to visit the exhibition in Pamplona during the biennial. To do this, transport is financed to allow them to travel from their own locality.
