Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra

Founded in 1879 by Pablo Sarasate, the Navarra Symphony Orchestra/Nafarroako Orkestra Sinfonikoa (OSN/NOS) is the oldest orchestra still extant on the Spanish symphonic scene. It is currently part of the Baluarte Fundazioa and is the official orchestra of Navarra. In the 140 years of its existence, the Navarra Symphony Orchestra has been invited to leading auditoria, opera seasons and festivals both in Spain and abroad. The OSN/NOS today offers audiences a regular series of concerts to which they can buy season tickets in the towns of Pamplona (in the Baluarte auditorium), Tudela (in the Gaztambide theatre) and Tafalla (in the Tafalla Kulturgunea arts centre), and engages in a busy social and educational programme throughout Navarra through the Sinfónica en Navarra scheme. Apart from its institutional commitments and the official presentations it takes on as Navarra’s symphonic ambassador, the OSN/NOS regularly records discs and soundtracks, and since 2019 has worked with AMAEN (the Navarra music and performing arts archive) to provide the Fonoteca Navarra with historic and new works by composers form the region.
