The roots of beauty, the effects of time in the Anthropocene and the sensory nature of ecological connection are central issues in the Liza Lim’s artistic work. Her extensive output shifts between different instrumental, technological and collaborative formats, creating as many as five operas of surprisingly different kinds. Beauty, the connection between rage and noise, the ecological connection and feminine spiritual lineages are core themes in her work, of which we will hear fragments commented on by the composer herself.
