“The desert is growing,” said Nietzsche, referring to the worrying capacity for expansion of nihilism in the West. How is it possible for a culture that has been home to the democratic ideas born in Athens to incubate ideologies driven by a radical absence of values? Where does our desert have its roots? What is the genealogy of this evil of our time, and what has happened since the philosopher warned of it? Thinker Barbara Stiegler will be exploring these questions and the possibility, always open, of a resurgence of democracy.
