Maslow Industries

Any culture that claims to be critical must be self-critical by definition. Based on this premise, Maslow’s proposal for intervention was born, based on a two-faceted query: Fifty years later, why have the Encounters of Pamplona mutated from a meeting of avant-garde art to something where the predominant theme is thought? Thanks to Maslow we sense that these two approaches, while apparently different, have a common background. In our society, where consumption reigns and overwhelms everything, culture is increasingly being emptied of content. Spaces for non-commercial meetings are becoming smaller and smaller. This is also the case of the space for art, apart from its role as mere decoration, sterile snobbery, or the promotion of tourism. Perhaps the organizers are right: thought is the only bastion left today for critical thinking. Is this really the case?
