Writer, editor and translator.
She has edited Granta in Spanish since 2003. She is a Fellow of the United States National Endowment for the Arts for her translation of Cremation by Rafael Chirbes. She has translated the work of Juan Eduardo Cirlot, Enrique Vila Matas and Bioy Casares, and worked with Azar Nafisi on the adaptation from Farsi of Nabokov and Exile for Yale University Press. She sits on the editorial committee of the Margellos collection for Yale University Press and is literary adviser to the international fellowship of the Prado museum. Curator of the exhibition Archivo Bolaño, 1977-2003, the outcome of research into the writer’s archives. Her bibliography includes monographic articles for Granta and the book A Thousand Forests in One Acorn. She lectures in literary translation and creative writing at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She writes for The New Yorker, The New York Times, El País, La Vanguardia and The Paris Review.
