Peru Galbete

He works primarily with voice and image, sometimes separately and sometimes putting them together. He is interested in vocal experimentation, improvisation and the permeability of song, taking part in both collective and individual projects. He also creates the whole imaginary world inhabited by his art, music, designs, drawings, poetry and videos.

Up to now he has published four albums of music, the second of them, Voces de la selva, recorded entirely in the Bolivian jungle, as well as working for the stage and cinema. He has premiered two shorts at the Punto de Vista festival, the last of them in the Official Selection in 2023. Also, at the Centro Huarte he created the musical-visual concert Uraren Oldea, a live solo show featuring both voice and projected slides.

WHAT COLOUR THE AIR IS

Singing is breathing, taking in air and letting it out, letting something come out of yourself. In this workshop we’ll do activities to work on listening and bringing out the voice. We’ll be relating it to others to feel the power it has – we have – beyond words. Moulding the voice, breathing it, making it sound, recording it, altering it, listening to it, chewing words, letting them drop… We’ll finish off by creating songs or sound pieces to speak for us. This workshop is part of the Encuentros pathway “The Voices We Were”.
