YOUR BOOK, MY DANCE

The workshop ‘Your Book, My Dance’ explores the personal and collective influences that shape pupils’ own imagination. Through which influences do we see ourselves? Which cultural agents help us to understand the world? And what voice to I have in this?

It will explore the current narrative in the media and the arts, as well as each pupil’s personal universe through the question, “What represents me?” This first phase of research will be followed by another exploring movement and voice through improvisation and group composition activities. After this comes analysis of these experiences, writing them down and setting them to music to generate the final choreography and staging. This workshop falls into the part of the programme entitled “Why Have We Constructed Ourselves Like This?” and “Paths to a different way of doing things”.
