What if the essential means of putting magic back into the world had to be sought centuries back, in the Middle Ages, in the mystical works of Hildegard of Bingen and Marguerite Porete? The liberating propositions of these precursors of feminism – bold, sensory and with a political sense ahead of their time – have crossed between cultures, language barriers and survived the passing of time like few others, to reach a 21st century thirsting for other models of community, knowledge, liberty and love, which they continue to inspire in their writing, even in times like ours, so intransigent and wary of ductility. Victoria Cirlot and Blanca Garí will explain the main contributions of these great mystics in the opening dialogue. This will conclude with a brief concert in which music by Hildegard of Bingen and other women composers of her time will be performed by the prestigious Capella de Ministrers conducted by Carles Magraner.
