Philosopher and essayist.
With a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a master in Communication and Cultural Studies from the University of Girona, he is the author of the essays Las pasiones ponderadas (Capitán Swing, 2015), Rebeldes (Lumen, 2021) and No seas tú mismo (Paidós, 2021). The latter essay dissects the millennial generation, formed in the shadow a voracious capitalism. His concerns also include ecology. In Espluga’s words, in the neoliberal context, the exhaustion of the subject turned into “self-entrepreneur” adds to the anxiety and uncertainty of an ecosocial crisis to make it seem that there is no way out. However, he also asks whether fatigue and eco-anxiety can be positive feelings, and if so whether they can be the seeds of an emancipating movement. He also works for media including El Salto, El País and RAC1.
