Luz Arcas (winner of the 2024 Spanish national dance award) is a dancer, choreographer and stage director.
She founded the company La Phármaco in 2009.
Her most recent creations include Morphine (2026), in collaboration with dramatist Pedro G. Romero, premiered in January at the Teatro de la Abadía de Madrid in a joint production with the theatre itself; and Tierras raras (2025), premiered at the Madrid en Danza festival (Teatros del Canal) in a joint production with the Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona) and Ma-scène nationale Pays de Montbéliard (France).
She is currently working on the piece Masa for the Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spain), to be premiered in May 2026 at Centro Danza Matadero (Madrid).
Her previous work is collected in two projects: Bekristen/ Tríptico de la prosperidad (2019- 2023), made up of the pieces La domesticación, Somos la guerra and La buena obra; and the Ciclo de los milagros (2020- 2022), made up of the pieces Toná, Trilla and Mariana.
Luz Arcas won the 2nd Godot prize in 2023 for best dance piece with Mariana, and was a finalist for best female dance performer at the Talía awards in 2023 and at the Max awards in 2017 and 2022.
