Biologist, writer and activist.
A graduate in Biology, after spending six months in Alaska, she decided to devote herself to writing about nature. On her return, she went to live in a small village in Galicia, where she writes, in 2003 winning the national environment prize for nature conservation, among other accolades. In her role as an activist, together with lawyers, attorneys, citizen platforms and ecologist associations, in 2024 she managed to provisionally suspend the Felga wind farm project on the Monte do Gato, in Galicia. Highlights among her books include El país de los pájaros que duermen en el aire, published by Espasa. She has directed over a hundred micro-documentaries about flora and fauna, and writes articles while cultivating what she calls the Third Branch: “There exists a Third Branch, between those of the sciences and arts, where birds nest.”
