TAXIO ARDANAZ

Artist and researcher. His work concerns the tensions that arise between ideology, representation and memory, using painting, installation or photographic archive work to explore the physical imprint of projects cut short and other forms of collective resistance. This interest has led him to work in contexts affected by conflict, such as Iraqi Kurdistan, Cuba, China and Mexico.

His work forms part of various public and private collections, and has been exhibited at institutions including Tabacalera (Madrid), Museo de Navarra, Academia de España en Roma, Tabakalera and San Telmo Museoa (Donostia), CIAJG (Guimarães), the Carreras Múgica galleries (Bilbao), Pelaires (Palma de Mallorca), Nordés (Santiago de Compostela) and Artista x Artista (Havana).
