Víctor Gómez Pin

Philosopher. He studied philosophy at the Sorbonne, where he earned a doctorate for his research into the Aristotelian order. Emeritus professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he has lectured at different universities, both in Spain and elsewhere. He is coordinator of the International Ontology Congress, held under the auspices of UNESCO for three decades. Since 2021 he has collaborated with the artificial intelligence area of the Public University of Navarre as guest philosopher. He has written numerous books, the most recent of which include: Tras la Física. Arranque jónico y renacer cuántico de la filosofía (2019), El honor de los filósofos (Acantilado, 2020) and El ser que cuenta (Acantilado 2025). He is a member of the Basque academy Jakiunde. He has won the Per Venezia prize from the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere e Arti, as well as the Spanish Anagrama and Espasa essay prizes. In 2015 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of the Basque Country.
