Professor of Anglo-North American Literature at the Universidad de Salamanca. Her books include Entre el mito y la realidad: Aproximación a la obra poética de Sylvia Plath (Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca, 1989) and a translation of The Waste Land, by T. S. Eliot.
She has also edited several volumes of essays, about North American Romanticism, Critical Essays on the Myth of the American Adam (2001), about contemporary poetry, Modernism Revisited (together with Paul S. Derrick 2007) and about short stories, Short Story Theories: a Twenty-First-Century Perspective (Rodopi, 2012).
With Paul Scott Derrick and Natalia Carbajosa she has translated the work of Ana Blandiana into English and Spanish.
