Magic and Mirrors of Sounds and Voices

From the Akrostichon-Wortspiel scenes to the opera Alice in Wonderland, dreams of childhood and vocalisation, alongside the fascination for virtuosity and devilish playfulness, are central to the work of Unsuk Chin, for whom the love of speed weaves a world of sonic wonder. Ramon Lazkano talks to the composer in a conversation in which the mystery and power of sonic imagination are explored by two of the great minds of contemporary composing.

Following their dialogue, a special concert will be performed featuring works by the composers invited to the Encuentros 2026. A string and electronic quartet, a traditional string quartet, and another featuring a bass clarinet and a soprano clarinet make up a unique repertoire that reflects the best of 21st-century music.
