Carlos Velilla Lon

Artist and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Barcelona, from 1975 to 2020. Some of his exhibitions include: Galeria Quadrado Azúl in Oporto, Galería René Metras in Barcelona, Galerie Phoebus in Rotterdam, SAGA 90 FIAC in Paris, Galería Nartex in Barcelona, Sala Gaspar in Barcelona, Galerie Bellint in Paris, Rathaus-Galerie in Berlin, CCCB in Barcelona, Casa de la Paraula in Santa Coloma de Farners, Girona province, ARCO in Madrid, Sala Gaspar and Quadrado Azul stands in Oporto (1989 – 2001) and A del Arte in Zaragoza. He has run seminars and postgraduate courses.  He has written for art and music magazines and journals. Lectures: Mis veinte dibujos preferidos at Caixa-Forum in Barcelona. Gustav Klimt at Caixa-Forum in Lleida and Tarragona. El arte en Centroeuropa Principios del siglo XX, at CCCB in Barcelona and Leonardo da Vinci y la música, two lectures at the CIVICAN arts centre in Pamplona. Co-editor of the journal PAC. He has made several films: Joaquim Chancho: El dibujo como pensamiento. Manolo Laguillo: de Montcada al mar, un levantamiento del Besós. He has published various articles, the latest being: (2018). He is currently in the course of publishing a portfolio of photographs, 50 años de fotografía. He spoke at the 3rd research conference on the history of photography about Stereoscopic or 3D photography in the 19th and 20th centuries, in 2022, with a paper on stereoscopic photography in contemporary art.
