Susana Solano

She studied at the faculty of fine art in Barcelona, where she also lectured. She has featured in international competitions including Documenta 8 and 9 in Kassel (1987 – 1992), the 19th Sao Paulo Art Biennial (1987), Skulptur Projekte in Münster (1987), the Venice Biennale (1988 and 1993) and Carnegie International in Pittsburg (1988).

She won the Special Prize awarded by The Utsukushi-Ga-Hara Open Air Museum, Tokyo (1985). National visual arts prize from the Spanish ministry of culture (1988). CEOE arts award, Madrid (1996). Tomás Francisco Prieto prize from the Real Casa de la Moneda, Madrid (2011). GAC prize for her artistic career, Barcelona (2015). Masters, The Network from FAD, Barcelona (2018) and the 7th Catalina D´Anglade art prize at ARCO Madrid (2024).

She has also worked on several occasions with architects on outdoor projects: J.A. Acebillo, Ignacio Linazasoro, Hans Hollein, Francisco Torres, Víctor Rahola and Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra.
