Historian specialising in research about fascism. Emilio Gentile is an emeritus professor at La Sapienza University in Rome and a member of the National Lincean Academy. He is among the top historians of Italian fascism in the world, and a prolific author translated in many countries. His publications in Spanish through Alianza Editorial include Mussolini contra Lenin, Fascismo and La mentira del pueblo soberano en la democracia. In 2003 he won the Hans Sigrist prize from Berne University, for his studies of religion in politics. He contributes to Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper.
